No band does complicated emotional contrasts as well as The National. Their latest, Trouble Will Find Me, is a dark, beautiful, self-effacing confessional that just might be their best album to date. Musically, the band delivers intimacy and intensity in equal measures, while singer Matt Berninger’s lyrics have never sounded more effortless. Critics and fans will likely strain themselves heaping the praise. With good reason, Trouble Will Find Me is nearly perfect.
